Hockey team tryouts

There are alot of issues out there to discuss. One that I want input on as early as possible is how you feel the tryouts for teams should be conducted. Examples are should they be open to the parents, or closed. Should a outside independent person be hired to evaluate the skaters, or let the coaches pick? Should there be a equal amount of players on each team as close as possible? How should they be conducted, or better yet, should information about what is to be evaluated be sent out or on the web site so the skaters will have a idea of what is expected of them on the days of the tryouts..I have some ideas but I want yours also. I know that there are coaches, parents, and others that have their own ideas on this one issue, I want to know how you feel about it. I want the tryouts to go on as smooth as possible, for all, but most for the kids...Kev

A little bit about me...

First time running for any type of sports board. Ran for Town Supervisor in Canosia TWP 5 years ago but lost, but you have to try. This blog will be for anyone to let me know their concerns, issues, good or not so good. It should be limited to the Proctor Area Hockey Association. I am very straight forward and won't sugar coat anything. I have two kids in the hockey system so I have a vested interest, but not just for my kids. All posts and coments will be ok'ed, checked by me first before posting.
